This has been a Friday for the books! I started the day with 3 signings; two RON’S and one mobile signing. The mobile signing was canceled by the borrowers for personal reasons. Scratch closing #1
For the next signing, the borrower could not understand why he had to do the closing on camera. He said “when I did my signing in March, I didn’t need a camera.” I called Title who explained his March closing was a hybrid where the notary came to him. He said he forgot about that. Still he didn’t want to do it on camera as only his phone has a camera and not his computer. Title rescheduled this from a RON to hybrid to another day. So scratch closing #2.
I get a last minute request to do a signing that is a few blocks away, and I agreed since the two previous signings had canceled. Since it was last minute the documents were not ready until 45 mins after the scheduled time but the borrowers were willing to wait, but were not enthusiastic about it. Well it turns out Title wants one additional document of verification, a copy of ther marriage license. The borrowers wanted to know why. So again I called Title. For reasons I won’t go into, the discussion between the representative from the Title company and the borrowers got a little intense. Needless to say, they refused to sign. So scratch #3.
I was honestly afraid that my 4th appointment would also cancel, considering my day so far, but it went through just fine. This is a day I will remember!
