I forgot to sign and date the Patriot Act but I did fill it out at the signing. Since it is not a notarized document I am looking at regular laws for this question. The SS wants me to put the day of the signing, looking at backdating it is allowed if it is to indicate the date of the event. How would you proceed? Backdate or no?
Considering that the Patriot Act is a federal government form, I would be very cautious on backdating federal government documents. " Cannot be backdated. The Patriot Act form cannot be backdated. It is important to use the correct expiration date for identification documents, as the form requires the most recent date to be accurate. If the identification document has expired, it should not be used for the form submission. ](https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=9cf37204ca26f1cfdf3cf7a9cf46e9db7c47493a05c86c8ba08958daa1a40d70JmltdHM9MTc1NzAzMDQwMA&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=4&fclid=3bb06421-7fe3-61cd-345c-727d7ef4604b&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly9mb3J1bS5ub3RhcnljYWZlLmNvbS90L2ktYW0tY29uZnVzZWQtd2l0aC10aGlzLWV4cGxhbmF0aW9uLWZyb20tdGhlLXRpdGxlLWNvbXBhbnkvMzI2NTM&ntb=1)
Based on that information, I would not backdate the Patriot Act form.
I just want to update that the NNA Hotline said this would be a legal form of backdating as we are not acting as a notary while filling out this document but instead representing the lender.
If it was filled out on the date it was completed that’s the date I would use. JMO.
