i have a brother printer hl-l6200dwt and every time i unplug my laptop and then plug it back in it made me uninstall and reinstalll same with my scanner. now my laptop will not recognize the printer at all not on usb cable not on wireless. so i switched laptops and the new laptop recognized the printer right away but it won’t let me add a second tray to device settings. i had to print all docs in letter size. if anybody can help me with this it would be great.

You might want to download updated driver on the second laptop. Update your printer properties as well, to make sure your second tray is defined.
