I had a buyer who was out of the country with really bad internet connection.
He could not upload his license into the ID verification at Blue Notary.
I sat there for 1.5 hours and it was frustrating for him and me as well. He had to come back later when he was able to get it uploaded into the system and PASS KBA and authentication.
As far as Blue Notary, I’m ok with the platform and the ability to drag and drop signatures, names, my seal etc. but I signed up for the Pro membership so you can bill outside of their system and I was getting emails every day for being a witness or acting as a notary. I’m told by the people who operate the chat feature that the orders for this stuff are taken as fast as they come in. You have to sit and refresh the page and cross your fingers…Does anyone here actually get work at Blue Notary?
Later I had another RON signer that I picked up from a lead site and he could not complete the KBA questions! He tried 7 times and gave up. I have to refund him through paypal.
My early experiences with BlueNotary came with a few bumps—mostly tech-related issues on the signer’s end. Like you, I ran into some frustrating KBA failures, but once I switched to biometric KBA (which is allowed here in Oregon), those problems disappeared.
As for picking up work through the open call notifications—I gave it an honest try for the first few months but eventually disabled the alerts. I was getting flooded with emails and never managed to land a single assignment. It just wasn’t worth the time or effort for the slim chance of snagging a low-paying job.
That said, I did connect with a few witnesses to join my sessions, and many of them were great—helpful, knowledgeable, and generous with their insights on how the platform works. It gave me the impression that a small group of experienced notaries really knows how to work the system and catch those open calls.
That’s very interesting John. I do remember seeing one of those notary requests flash by on my screen. I think the folks who get the orders must sit and refresh their browser every few seconds. It is kind of silly to sit there hoping to score $5 to act as a witness! I wonder how the site has gotten so popular.
I am part of the Pro membership on BlueNotary. I found that it’s a great tool for a professional like ourselves, but the platform is way too crowded, and I don’t think it’s a good use of my time.
