Snapdocs may point out they already have a feature that allows users to block offers from companies they do not wish to work for. They give you that option, so use it if there are companies you won’t work for because of slow or no pay.
@jtmcdonnell44 I commend
your efforts in taking a proactive (preventative) approach to aid other fellow Business Owners to avoid falling into the same Non-Payment status with this Non-Paying business entity.
.
Also, appreciate you returning to the Notary Cafe forum to share updates & the progress of your efforts. ![]()

You have to remember that Snapdocs is getting paid by the companies that use their services. They are not getting paid by us notaries. Therefore, their bias in any situation is going to be in the paying customers’ favor, not ours.

According to Statement of Information filed with SOS, that Moneta Way address in Campbell, CA is the address of record for Chris Ellis. I would try sending a demand letter by certified mail/return receipt requested to that address.
Good luck! ![]()
I did the closing 4/8/2025 and just got paid on 8/23/25. I complained to snapdocs and posted on here. Good luck with these people paying
The good news is you got paid.
@r.esser @tracey2 @jtmcdonnell44 Sorry to read about the payment difficulties with this business entity.
These two encircled items ALONE in screenshot below would have generated the term “WARNING” or “NON-PAYING” to be included within the thread title.
This business entity is definitively be a
HARD PASS
for those encircled reasons alone . . .
It’s difficult enough to provide these professional services without being confronted with business entities that choose NOT TO PAY. ![]()

I guess I’ll wait until September which will be 4 months for payment. Ridiculous that it took this long but I’m glad the gentleman was finally paid.
Snapdocs has nothing to do with you getting paid the company that hired you pays you.
Something must be wrong I looked them up they have good comments since April 2014
@r.esser @tracey2 @jtmcdonnell44 As noted previously within this thread, your experiences are certainly NOT ‘one-off’ anomalies. ![]()

After months of chasing, I finally received payment from Chris Ellis of Cykix.
Notaries shouldn’t have to send demand letters just to be paid for work already completed. We are the ones scheduling appointments, traveling to clients, covering costs, and completing the job — yet many signing companies take 75% or more of the fee immediately and leave us waiting months, or worse, never pay at all. We are not in the short term / 0% interest loan business.
This behavior is exploitative and harmful to the notary community. Fellow notaries: be cautious when working with companies that delay or avoid payment. Our time and professionalism deserve better.

The good news is you got paid. After this thread how many notaries will never both with them? Sometimes that’s the best we can hope for.
Unfortunately these types of companies come up with different names to do business again and do the same things. I will only work with reputable companies that pay on a timely basis from now on.

This is the reason it’s SO IMPORTANT to perform your own due diligence & Research every place you can to gather ALL the DETAILS about a business entity that is requesting your Professional Signing Agent [PSA] services.
If you’re uncertain how to do it, here are a few pointers.
Of note, do the Research PRIOR TO providing any of your PSA services.
