Through Sunshine Signings I was offered a job for $100 to have a client sign the documents for a negotiated debt agreement. At first, the company said that I would need to take a “course” to be able to answer any questions that may come up but it sure felt like they wanted me to present their product. I called back and told them that their client Spring legal wanted me to pitch their services and I refused to do both of those tasks at the same time with the same client. I did notarize the documents and I would not close that deal as the vendor demanded. I called the NNA for advice and then reported their activities to the State of Pennsylvania. Any advice on how to handle this type of client request?
I just decline all debt settlements… they all have dubious reputation. They want you to be the “face” of their “legal” scam… my personal opinion.
Good for you! I talked to a person once who was ready to sign the debt settlement agreement until the notary who was appointed to the signing, pointed to the verbiage stating that the signer would be paying a high fee of about $3k. The signer declined to sign and opted to seek out a debt management plan through a non profit organization instead.
That’s what I call karma to the debt settlement co.
That’s what I thought too!
The first time I accepted an offer, to see what’s the so terrible with them that nobody (almost) wants to work with them, right after I received the amount of paper work and instructions, I DECLINED! I felt like I was about to harrass the borrowers…
Yeah, I won’t be accepting any of those for sure!
