Identrust_BlueNotary Digi Cerificate Upload Problems

So…last Friday I purchased a digital certificate to meet my state’s (Oklahoma) RON requirements and was approved with Identrust whom is a partner of BlueNotary. After successfully downloading the file into my Mac OS keychain access, I then created a backup copy of its .p12 file as instructed. Within BlueNotary I was able to ATTEMPT the upload into their system but the file wasn’t accepted which became utterly frustrating after seeing the error message “the certificate cannot be used for PDF signing because it does not support digital signatures”.

I wound up speaking with an Identrust rep three times after having continuous issues with the file at first not showing up on my own system but after it finally appeared to be successfully installed, the upload process into BlueNotary became unsuccessfully irritating. At this point, the file is useless for BlueNotary and there goes my $$ and unused certificate dwn the drain alrdy. the rep says I couldn’t get a refund since it’s an encrypted file that’s been downloaded/installed onto my system.:face_with_steam_from_nose:

As for BlueNotary, I researched their site and youtube videos for external vendor digital certificate uploading issues and ZERO…nothing available. Hoping this isn’t how it’s going to be moving forward when dealing with digital certificates for RON work.

I don’t use a Mac, I use Windows. When I’ve exported .p12 files, I was asked if I wanted to export the private key. I imagine Blue Notary needs a certificate with the private key in order to sign notarial certificates on your behalf. If you chose not to export the private key, that would prevent the file from working.

You might think it’s a bad idea to let a RON platform have your private key; that’s what I think. But I believe that’s how all the platforms work, which is one of the reasons I won’t do RON.

Hi Ashton. That’s just it, I uploaded the correct file which was the privacy key but it still didn’t work.:man_shrugging:t5:

Hello,
Just curious, why did you choose Blue Notary for your RON platform?

Thank you

Well…based on my local SOS office, BlueNotary was among the few state-approved vendors they’d accept. Ntm…my research indicated that they’re also one of the top platforms used. My issue I’m having isn’t a 100% BlueNotary issue, it’s mostly an Identrust digital certificate issue I have, considering they’re in partnership with BlueNotary, the issue is shared. At thus point, I’m wieking on Proof & others not named BlueNotary.

Ok, Blue Notary is good but you will receive more opportunities on Proof platform and not have to pay the $25.00 for being a Blue Notary member.
on the subject of Digital Certificate “Blue Notary” gives you one for free.
What level are you on the Proof platform? Silver or Gold.

Well…I just started last week on Proof and still working thru Proof Academy at the moment so I guess I’m virtually neither Silver or Gold. :man_shrugging:t5::grin:

Congratulations
Your in Partner Level which let’s you be as Witness and do Retail Sessions.
