Is Prestige Notaries in Financial Hardship?

The owner of Prestige Notaries AND Notary Dash (and a few other companies) is Jennifer Garland. Here’s one of her many websites:

Jennifer Garland – Entrepreneur, Mentor & Legal Services Visionary

Ok - here is my latest scoop on Prestige - she is now licensed through the State of Delaware - 2 days ago I sent her an email and advised her that I called her Registered Agent and filed a complaint of nonpayment. Today I received my check for the 2 signings I did in May - if anyone needs to contact the Registered Agent - this is the State of Delaware website information - hope this helps for all future notaries -

Since the builder values your work, professionalism and customer service for their clients and you value the business relationship, just renegotiate the terms of your service, especially if you’re their “go-to” signing agent. I’m sure there’s a way to tactfully and diplomatically inform the TC and/builder of the facts of the matter and get paid directly, thereby eliminating the non-payment issue.

First off, Thank you for this info. I have snooped a bit and queried the name change. She (Jennifer Garland) is big time now I guess haha, expanding company offerings to other than signings. I was thinking of googling for this, as I at one time had a Delaware Corp and had to have a “registered agent” as well.

Im gonna hit them HARDDD!

Truly love this group, so helpful :star_struck:

I removed my previous post because I always believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt. Those who read my post saw where I had two jobs that were due earlier in the month, and one coming due next week. So, doing some digging I was able to find a good email for Ms. Garland (having already sent one email,) and I forwarded my previous email to this newer one. I did get a reply rather quickly.

She did offer an explanation, and out respect and I won’t share details of a private email but understanding the people and businesses all have issues beyond their control I’ll give them time. After all grace cost me nothing.

I had a completed and fully passed order for Prestige Notary Services on NotaryDash on 05/06/2026. I did everything right — printed the documents, drove to the appointment, handled the signing, uploaded scanbacks, and closed the file exactly as required.

Then the waiting started.

After 80 days, Prestige finally replied and told me I needed to send an invoice.
So I sent it immediately.

Their next message?
I must wait another 37 days — “because of their rules.”

117 days for a simple notary payment.

As we all know, this waiting period is only for the signing service to receive payment from the title company — and I’m certain they received that within the first month.

This is unacceptable. Prestige Notary keeps delaying payments far beyond industry standards and keeps changing requirements long after the work is completed. The notary does the job, but the company controls the clock — and they know we have no protection.

This is exactly why notaries need real payment rules, real accountability, and a real organization that defends our rights.

This is exactly what they do. Invoicing is critical and 37 days is BUSINESS DAYS. When I started out, I learned a lot from Jennifer. But receivables became a problem. Other companies who use Notary Dash pay in 30 days or less, so I never left the platform.

@novatrustednotary :white_check_mark: Accurate statement for the existing invoice(s). :white_check_mark:

As a business owner, one chooses each business entity they provide their professional services to for each Job Bid.

If a business entity demonstrates a Non-Paying and/or S-L-O-W payment reputation (via 1 invoice or multiple), the business owner can CODE that particular business as “NO” into their phone regarding Signing Order(s) [SOs] originating from that business entity.

Additionally, as Non-Payment is a recurring challenge with some business entities, several SO platforms now have an Option within the Dashboard to Select no longer receive SOs from that business entity.

Many Notary Cafe members regularly share their direct experience when working with various business entities via the forums in support of other members.

I often recommend that members engage in the following:

  • Research the Notary Cafe database PRIOR TO providing professional services to a business entity that is new to your business
  • Review this thread for the time-proven, successful techniques for managing invoices
  • Implement these two [2] successful methodologies for Collection of Overdue Invoices

Regarding the potential formation of a ‘union’ or ‘organization that defends our rights’ . . .

This has been discussed in the past on multiple occasions . . .

In general, the consensus has been that it would be like ‘herding cats’ due to the independent nature of each entrepreneur as well as the various other unique characteristics found within this business sector.

If you have specific ideas or a concept in this regard, you may want to create a separate thread to open a topic of discussion on that potentiality.

I keep getting multiple job offers from Prestige on a daily basis, even after it has become evident that they are not paying their notaries and must be in financial trouble (at some level). Those notaries who are accepting their jobs may not be aware that they probably won’t ever be paid. There must be something criminal about this method of operation on Prestige’s part. Yet they seemingly have no shame.

I finally collected the last of my money from Prestige and deleted all my credentials off their site. I let them know we are no longer working together as their payment terms are not acceptable. I have had to do the same with Accredited. Both are with Notary Dash. I refuse to spend all this time chasing money that is mine.

@DebSmith4759 :tada: Congratulations! :tada: Your diligent efforts reaped rewards. :sparkles:

@DebSmith4759 :white_check_mark: Absolutely Correct :white_check_mark:

You fulfilled your portion of the Contractual Agreement by providing Professional Signing Agent [PSA] services. Once that was complete, the funds were due for the services provided (within the agreed-to remuneration interval).

They are very very slow pay. I have to harass and harass and finally I get paid.

@steven1 @DebSmith4759 :tada: Congratulations! :tada: Your diligent efforts have reaped rewards. :sparkles:

You are right ,This is Exactly the same email they sent me! I am sure there are a lot of agents that they haven’t been paid, so they just use the Template email!

Everyone please stop taking any order with them, you don’t want to work for free.

I started this RANT 7/10/2026, after manyyy emails I was finally acknowledged by an X CS rep who is a Manager of ? there. We went back and forth and she offered to submit on my behalf my outstanding invoices (yes they had them). That was about 7/27/2026. She “shared” that they were having issues getting paid from a Title Co but none the less she would push these for payment as Im one of their “good” notaries blada blada. SURPRISE, SUPRISE, SURPRISE today 8/10/2026 not only did I get ALL my money but Jennifer Garland sent a seperate email (im sure to ALL notaries) explaining their issues getting paid from 2 Title Co’s who have converted software or some sort of bs and that she should have sent out this letter sooner…

I share this because its easy to complain and I wanted everyone to know they are having collection issues themselves. Prestige should have a Line of Credit for these problems so as not to lose Notaries like myself who go above and beyond regardless of fees.

I hope if anyone else is now waiting for money from Prestige they see it asap.

:hugs: Thank You :hugs: for returning to your thread with the current Status Update regarding receiving your remuneration for the long overdue invoices for your professional services.

Thanks Im extremely happy

@marlassocalnotary

Thanks for posting your update and SO VERY glad you finally received your funds.

HOWEVER. Paying VERY late (if ever) is Prestige’s modus operandi … and, by extension, Jennifer Garland’s MO. They have a consistent history of that “payment method.” Just check every notary forum you can find. Given that fact, is she REALLY having issues getting paid from a title company or is she running a type of ponzi scheme? Think about it. Prestige hires a notary to do a signing – more than likely a newbie because that newbie may not be familiar with their poor-pay record. Pays them. Then, they hire that notary for a very few more signings and pay them each time stretching the pay period a little more – just enough to keep the notary interested. After those first 3-5 paid signings, the notary is kept waiting several months for payment. When the notary notifies Prestige to pay up or else the notary will contact title, then Jennifer sends an apology letter (probably a template) saying she’s having payment issues herself but will push through that notary’s payment. BINGO! That notary is paid by monies withheld from other notaries AND the paid notary will more than likely keep working for Prestige thereby making them money but will eventually be left hanging out to dry when the tables turn and someone else gets paid and the original notary is not.

Prestige has been doing this for years. Jennifer has several companies, including the platform Notary Dash. Notary Dash is free for notaries. Notary Dash gets paid by the hiring party (i.e. title/escrow, lender, signing service). As marlassocalnotary posted, they should have a line of credit. With all her businesses combined, she probably has the income to qualify. According to her website, Jennifer is a world traveler. Jennifer Garland – Entrepreneur, Mentor & Legal Services Visionary Perhaps that’s where the notaries’ monies are spent?

Personally, I’ve learned by the experience of others. I’ve never worked with Jennifer or any of her companies. My above thoughts are purely on conjecture.

As a side note: Several years ago, Jennifer reached out to me – out of the blue. Guess she read some of my (negative) comments about her company(ies) and wanted to explain but she was traveling (something about getting a sick pet to a vet) and would call me when she had some additional time. Never did hear back. I didn’t pursue the issue. She didn’t owe me any money and, thereby, didn’t owe me any explanation.

@marlassocalnotary :tada: You’re most Welcome! :tada:
