Just got an email that MC will introduce an AI closing assistant.
But if you don’t take the time to talk to the AI after you close it will keep calling.
But you will have an option of requesting live assistance.
I sure hope the math was good.

Just another annoying nuisance by the signing services that we have to put up with.
This AI assistant seems pointless. Are we teenagers? We don’t need a robot to confirm date, time and whatever else.. Ugh!
MC never offers more than federal minimum wage. I always respond ‘not available, bc if I have to convince you this work is worth more than minimum wage, I’m not interested.
Almost everyone offers the lowest fee they think they can get away with. I counter offer everything that comes through Mortgage Connect I get some. I don’t get some and that’s OK.
Thanks
. I’ll try it. The few times I have countered, MC doesn’t respond. They choose someone else.
To me they are like everyone when you do get jobs and you return error free work it gets easier to receive the fee you request. There are some closing agents that I get a lot of assignments from. So sooner or later you will get your counter offer and then it just gets easier to get the order the next time.
The relentless march of technological advancements unequivocally constitutes a fundamental aspect of human progress, serving as a clear manifestation of mankind’s evolutionary journey, a trajectory from which a return is simply not a viable option. Within the dynamic landscape of the business world, corporations are perpetually engaged in a relentless pursuit of strategies designed to streamline operations, reduce expenses, optimize existing systems and processes, and, most importantly, maximize profitability. Consequently, it is the astute and adaptable small business owners, those who exhibit agility and a willingness to embrace innovation and swiftly integrate these technological shifts, who will be uniquely positioned to not only thrive but also to experience substantial growth and establish enduring success in this ever-evolving economic climate. Have any of you noticed that live assistance is becoming less available in some businesses? Are live assistants becoming more difficult to reach, or have wait times increased?
Customer service to me is just a dying thing. I spent my career in customer service and sales and support and it’s shocking to me companies just don’t bother anymore.
Same for me and they sometimes call me and when I ask what the fee is they say its $75 and I say I can do it for $125 and they give it to me.
When they start calling that’s the best feeling.
I have had a couple of calls from the AI and I hate the thing. I will get offers sent to me (usually 2 in succession) which I send my counter back on. Then the AI assistant will call to try to talk me into it for lower.
I just had the experience where I actually talked it up to within $5 of my offer so I agreed. Then they send the documents. No where in the original order, call or any place else did they say that I needed to provide 2 witnesses. Yet there it was in the doc package. The AI was not about to budge more on price. So frustrating. I ended up losing it because I can’t pay for witnesses out of what I was being paid.
In other words, the Customer Service Rep is becoming a dinosaur. Yes, it’s become a world of “press 1 for this, press 2 for that, press 3 for the other, press 4 for ‘I give up’”.
Be careful what you wish for. You just may get it
Yes, I have had that experience with counteroffers, but not with Mortgage Connect. I think it may have more to do with saturation in my area than anything else. That’s fine. I just cannot work for the pittances that they offer.
I generally prioritize speaking directly with a person, especially for serious inquiries like discussing fees. I don’t typically engage with automated calls, as they tend to be time-consuming and often present offers that don’t align with my business needs. If a real representative reaches out with a fair fee, I’m always open to working together.
I think AI is more for closing questions. Fee discussions are already automated via counter offers sent to their text messages.
Like you I do counter offer. Then after all else fails and after the offer was not accepted, they call to see if I’m still interested. I will continue to counter, then (not holding my breath) wait for the call.
They should send interactive questions when you counteroffer. Let’s say you counteroffer $125 for a $75 offer that they sent. They could send you a text message consisting of "Will you accept $80? Answer "Y’ for Yes, “N” for No. You answer “no” and it repeats the prompt in $5 increments until you say “yes”.
No way that would completely waste my time
Not necessarily. When you counteroffer on the phone, they more often than not tell you that they have to get approval and will get back to you. If you counter to an email or text, you have to wait until they get back to you (IF they get back to you). This way, they just keep repeating the question until you answer “Yes”. If you let it go through the $5 increments until it gets to your original counter, which was $125, you’ll get the job at your price. If they stop raising it before it gets to $125, then that means they’re not going to offer any more. It’s better than going back and forth. I had something happen to me yesterday that validates my point. I counteroffered a job and I didn’t see the text when they replied some time later that my counter was accepted. I didn’t discover the text until this morning, which had said that my counteroffer was approved. That was yesterday, though, and they had already assigned it to someone else. So, I lost out on a job because I missed a text message, which I’m sure happens to everyone at one time or another. The way I’m suggesting it would decide yes or no in one pass, and there would be no “I’ll get back to you”.
I am with you that low ball. I always counter the offer and get more. The travel, the print and gas prices, they need to offer what other companies are offering. Not $50.
