Quickbooks VS Notary Gadget - Beginner’s Questions - Notary Cafe Forums

I use Notary Gadget. It does everything that I need it to do. Only problem is that it costs $119.95 yearly, or something to that effect.

The price is not a “problem”. It costs about 30 cents a day. Notary Gadget is a nice system and provides just about everything the average notary needs for bookkeeping purposes.

I agree. I wouldn’t want anything else. When I first started with them about 5 years ago, I think the price then was $79.99. Notice that it has crept up over time, just like everything else EXCEPT our notary fees :frowning:

I use Notary Assist. It is cheaper than NotaryGadget and more user-friendly. It’s also a small mom-and-pop business run by Sue Hope and her husband in California. Great people, and they are both notaries who developed this program because of the issues they had as notaries.

  • Creates invoices

  • One-step backup process

  • Data entry in overview mode or within each engagement popup screen

  • Great to ease of accessing data at Tax Time

  • Excellent report creation tools

  • Easy to alter previously created engagement data

  • Outstanding mileage monitoring reports

  • Software is designed to report income correctly [exclusion of notarial fees from income reports]

I just signed up with Notary Gadget and so far I am enjoying all of it’s capabilities. The cost is not really a factor as it keeps me honest with all that I will need for tax season.

I have used Notary Gadget for several years and I like it a lot. Fairly priced and saves me a lot of time.

I used Notary Assist for years. Have never had a problem. Notary Gadget has a few more bells and whistles that I really appreciate though. They have an integrated electronic notary journal. It’s extra but well worth not having to lug around a paper log book, entries are much quicker so less time at home and or at the table. The mobile app is also awesome! Either one of those are really great for Notary Work. They are both designed specifically for Notary Signing Agents
