Now skeptical about coast 2 coast

I am new to signing services with so far only 2 signings under my belt. Thanks to this site I am considering the 2 to be my last with them. My first pay was slow, the second is now late. I’ve manged to get a response from them that only say a message has been sent to accounting.
Now I have a delimer, early last week a signing was sent to me which I countered on. The same signing has apparently been sent multiple times since for the same base rate of $30.
Today I replied to it with a message to please pay my past due signing.
Well this evening I get a message that I have been assigned to this signing which I countered on last week. Now I am leary of going through with another signing for this company. It is located in my same city.
I am curious what anyone else might do about this situation?

When dealing with a new-to-you SS, it’s good practice to do one & see how it goes.
But…well, you did two, so see how THEY go. C2C usually takes like 90 days, but does (eventuallly, if you’re patient and remind them) pay. Still, in today’s messy economy, I wouldn’t take any more until I was paid for these.

Thank you for the reply, yes the 1st was paid the day I called and actually got someone on the phone. I figured the 2nd was going to be similar, yet so far has been negative. This 3rd one I thought was assigned since it was a week after I countered. I also countered on it before my final due date for payment on the 2nd one. They say 37 days for payment on Friday. Someone needs to do better accounting.
To make matters worst on how bad their accounting must be. I received payment twice from the 1st signing which I deleted the 2nd e-check.

I took one assignment from them when I first started out. They actually paid me after a month. I found them very difficult to work with so I just don’t do signings for them anymore. You have been burned twice by them so it seems not wise to do another with them until they pay you for the first two.

Another day and still no pay. I was unassigned from the possible 3rd signing and I certainly have no hard feelings. I did find out that someone else had been assigned to the signing on 6/5 and was unassigned on 6/10 when they decided to assign it to me.

My fiasco with Coast2Coast continues, long story short communication can help a lot and being honest apparently means crap to them. My 1st signing with them I was double paid for which I never downloaded and cashed the 2nd check this was back in January. Guess I should have let them know it was an error, I thought it would just go back to them eventually. Well finally I’ve been able to get some communication on my current late payment for the 2nd signing and they send me a $25 check with no explanation. FYI payment due is $100. So, I email them asking why payment so low and they claim I was already over paid and that my deluxe account shows I received both payments. I sent emails twice to this person stating that I only downloaded and cashed one of the checks and she swears that I cashed both. Now I wait until after the holiday to contact them again or deluxe to see if they still have the check on record. I also didn’t have a deluxe account when I downloaded the 1st check so not sure how they are showing it in my account. I have created one for the $25 check and it’s of course the only payment showing.

Not sure how you were able to access your Deluxe check without creating an account. You may want to login in to Deluxe and go to the “Dashboard” page (home page); then go to “Receive Checks - Lockbox Account” and click on “Checks Received”. That will take you to a list of checks issued to you – gives date of issuance, person/company who issued, amount, check number, status (i.e. printed). Deluxe hours are M-F, 7am-7pm CT.

From what I’ve read in the various forums, getting paid by Coast2Coast is difficult (at best). I’ve never worked with them as they have very poor reviews regarding payment, their fees are too low PLUS many years ago I used to work with SoCal Signings (which later became C2C, Lisa Bittner, owner). One time, SoCal was late in paying me. When I finally managed to contact someone in their office, I was told I would have to wait for Lisa to get back from China. After repeated communication with their office, I finally received payment. Never again.

I hope your payment issue is soon resolved to your satisfaction.

There is an option to download checks as a guest when accessing them, I will check the deluxe site again to see if they are listed.

Logged into the deluxe account I just created and under Receive Checks Lockbox only shows the $25 check. You would think since they all came to the same email account they would be there. I will give Deluxe a call tomorrow.

Finally, I have received full payment, contacted deluxe and nothing they could do. So back to coast2coast and possibly they seen the 2nd check wasn’t deposited and issued a void followed by a replacement check. Took my bank a while to process it so hopefully it clears all the way

Wow. what a fiasco. Continue to counteroffer to C2C – you’ll most likely get the job. Most of us Oldies - 30+yrs notary – got tired of C2C and ignore their job offers.

I’ve removed myself from the mailing list, the 2 signings I did was enough for me. I countered on the 2 I did but they all start out at $30, not worth the trouble.

Coast2Coast takes about 1-2 months to pay…but when they pay, they pay out everything within a few days via multiple separate payments or one combined payment.

As far as counteroffers with them, it’s hit or miss as to if they will accept them. They have accepted 50% of my counter offers. The assignments I get are quick and easy, and I take the ones close to my home.
