RON certified

I just got RON certified with the state of Oklahoma, I chose a vender of the list, and now I need to know what to do next. The vender website states it does not set anything up for you until the company informs them or goes through them to set you up. I am not sure what I need to do or how to get started. Can someone that already does this help with questions? thank you

I extend my congratulations on achieving your RON certification. However, I’m finding it challenging to provide specific guidance at this point, as I’m lacking some key information. To best assist you, could you please share what your goals and objectives for obtaining this certification? Understanding your aspirations will enable me to offer more tailored and relevant advice as you move forward in this process. For instance, I added RON as an additional service to serve the public and signing vendors. At this juncture, I recommend you approach the development of your RON services similarly to how most notaries established their traditional notarial practices. I am available to continue communicating with you and providing assistance whenever possible.

@clarlm1059 Just wondering if by any chance were you able to locate the immediately available information found within the Notary Cafe database on this topic?

This information is a TREASURE TROVE!

Since you’ve been a Notary Cafe member for several years, you probably already know how to locate the Magnifying Glass to access the Notary Cafe database with all the valuable data . . .

Hello!

Welcome to the world of RON. I am a vendor on 2 RON platforms, Blue Notary and Notarize. Both have a waiting period after you sign up with them so that they can do the checks on the forms/data you provided at sign up. I believe that most platforms (as I looked at several) are going in that direction. Usually they email you back in a few business days and unlock the additional features so that you can complete the sign up and profile creation sections.

If you have the chance, take all of the training that the platform will offer you that is free. Be careful on trainings that the platform charges for. Investigate what they are offering for the fees, as with one well known platform, their paid Loan Signing Course uses you tube videos that are identical as to what is available in their free training section. The fee for this course is also very high, as the last time I saw it advertised it was almost $600.

@clarlm1059 Absolutely echo this insight (as excerpt notes above). :tada: Thank You :tada: to @brucem1213 for sharing his direct experience with the Remote Online Notarization [RON] platforms. Helpful‼️

@clarlm1059 As always, Caveat Emptor in regard to training, mentoring, directory listing, etc., etc., etc.

As you have probably already experienced, there are those who lack scruples & morals while engaging in misleading and delusional marketing tactics; i.e., falsely espousing 6-figure incomes, etc.

Also, there are myriad items to be quite cautious about regarding RON Signing Orders; i.e., location of the signer, possible alteration of the current-government issued photo ID, coercion via an individual not located within the viewfinder of the camera who may be placing pressure on the signer, etc., etc., etc.

Plus, the technical difficulties that many signers have with the Knowledge-Based Authentication [KBA] system & the delays and cancellations that can be created as a result.

It’s definitively a ‘rabbit hole’ to tunnel down & explore prior to engaging in the addition of this Service to the Professional Services one lists as a business owner.

Due to these (and multiple other factors) many Professional Signing Agents [PSAs] have “opted for naught” & haven’t moved forward with the technical marvel of RON Signing Orders.

Understand that this is A LOT to absorb, but taking on this Service has many potential pitfalls that can snare the unsuspecting . . .
