I went through the process of adding RON credentials to my commission but it turns out on-demand RON isn’t allowed in the state of Indiana. Is there a way to make money with RON outside of on-demand platforms? Is there a benefit to me continuing on with the PROOF onboarding process?
I am Ron certified with Proof, and my state does allow on demand, but I never was able to get any work that way. I have had 1 request for a RON notarization in the last 6 months. I am probably not going to renew my RON commission. After the fees you pay to Proof, you really don’t make but $12 per notarization. They keep slightly over 50% of the $25 allowed charge.
@erinhayden FL -Given my active involvement in Remote Online Notarizations (RON) since January 2020, I want to emphasize the critical importance of developing a robust strategy for anyone thinking about becoming an RON notary. Specifically, I highly recommend creating a comprehensive marketing plan and a detailed business development roadmap. These are not merely suggestions; they are essential tools for successfully expanding and effectively cultivating the RON service within your existing notarial practice, allowing you to maximize its potential and differentiate your services in the market. Absolutely, there are viable avenues to generate income with RON services that operate independently of on-demand platforms. The key is to proactively implement strategies to cultivate your own client base and establish relationships with businesses that require these specialized notarization services, thus ensuring a steady stream of opportunities.
