Hello I’m just wondering if any other SAs have experienced it being very slow getting signings in the month of April. I’m in CA and it was very slow and competitive for me as other months it the past 9 months have been plentiful. I was thinking maybe because it’s tax season.

Hi TM Phillips Notary,
April is historically slower than all other months due to tax season. One of our regular notaries showed that it was up to 20% slower in her previous years. As a signing service we did 15% less volume. If you are a newer notary you may not recognize this trend yet but it’s valid. Just thought I’d help you.

Thank you. I’ve been full time since May of last year so I’m happy to know it’s a trend for that month.
I didn’t know either I thought it was just me can you give me any type of hope?
I was my busiest so far in April here in Las Vegas. But maybe it’s because I’ve only started in January. I’m hoping to be busier so I can make this a full time job!!
I was busy March - April, but my May has been a drought so far.

April I was pretty busy, but this month is starting off very slow. I hope it picks up

Slow in North Central Florida. It was slow last April as well.
I’m in Texas. February and March were slow for me. April was okay. Let’s hope there’s more for May.

That’s true for every situation
When it’s slow. I try to take on regular notorial work.
Or just do bookkeeping for other businesses that’s good too.
