I am new to this platform. When will I get signings

I am new to this platform, just a couple of weeks now. So, when exactly will I get signings assignments? What exactly am I paying for?

No Board to check for signings???

This isn’t a platform; it’s a Directory that hiring party uses to locate a notary and then contact you directly. So you’ll never really know they found you here unless you ask the caller. If you get a direct e-mail
same thing applies. This is the way it was done prior to platforms and many small Title Co. use it to locate an out-of-their-area notary. Which means not a lot of business from any one particular TC, but there are a LOT of small TCs that use Directories when they need a notary in a particular area. And they pay MUCH MUCH BETTER than the ‘how cheap will you go’ platforms.

Try signing up with services that actual provide work.

The find a notary part of this website I feel like is for smaller signing services who hire direct and pay direct to the notary as a way to avoid using actual platforms like Snapdocs and Signing Order to avoid their fees.

Hello, Hyacinthe. Welcome to Notary Cafe. You are a brand new member with less than 10minutes spent on reading through the forum according to your Notary Cafe profile stats. Please take some time to read the threads as this question has been asked and answered many, many times.

What you are paying for primarily is the ‘FIND A NOTARY’ feature. People (hiring companies and private individuals) use this platform to find a local notary, then they will reach out to you directly if you meet their hiring requirements. But you won’t know someone has found you on Notary Cafe unless they volunteer that fact when they call you, or if you ask them “how did you find me?”

Wish you the best of luck.

@Hyacoenterprise Welcome to the Notary Cafe forums.

FYI: This platform is a Directory that provides you with a Listing within it; i.e., similar to a ‘telephone book’ or “Contacts List’

You’re now a business owner & the onus is upon You to do the hard work . . .

“What hard work?” one might ask . . .

NOT RECEIVING SIGNING ORDERS?

EXPECTATIONS

ABOUT THIS BUSINESS SECTOR

Honestly it can take a while before the first assignment shows up. A lot of notaries sign up on multiple platforms and contact signing companies directly - it’s rarely instant.

@Hyacoenterprise The assessment excerpt noted above is valid. :white_check_mark:

Honestly, most of those platforms don’t just hand you signings - you’ve gotta market yourself a bit and get on multiple services. It’s kinda slow at first, but it picks up once you build contacts.

I wonder how it is that new notaries (old timers like me call them “newbies” for those of you who are, indeed, new) come to the conclusion that by just signing up on a platform, orders will come their way automatically. “When will I get signings?” they ask.

I’ll post the following to serve as a touchpoint for why signings don’t fall out of the sky for newbies:

  1. There are approximately 4.4 MILLION notaries in the U.S. as of 2022 (the last time a census was taken). Competition could be a factor, no? Experienced notaries in your geographic region are getting the work (deservedly).

  2. Have you done any marketing, self-promotion, cold calling, networking, etc.?

  3. What have you done about digging up signing services that you can develop a relationship with ? (there are hundreds of them!)

  4. When you finally get an order, do you triple check your work so you don’t leave room for mistakes and oversights. You’re not too busy, so take the time to do this - it’ll pay off as you progress.

  5. Watch this space! Other learned notaries post great stuff all the time on this forum that can only help you. Ask questions. Follow up. Read everything. Prepare, prepare, and prepare some more. Make sure all your gear works optimally. Test yourself.

  6. Ask for the orders (you figure that one out on your own - you gotta do the work to learn).

I invite other contributors to add to this starter list. I’m sure some cool stuff will get posted.

Via Con Dios!

Good job Bobby others have said similar things and people still get on here and cry for not getting paid. Did they check out the company beforehand no.
