Printing the documents

Hello everyone,

I am new at this as well, not knowing what to do and what pages is supposed to be legal and which ones supposed to be letter, They mostly print all on legal, and them I see bar codes at the bottom of some documents and not on the others, not sure if that means the ones with the bar code is supposed to be on letter or not? have anyone else had this issue? I do have a brother dual tray and the tech squad from best buy was supposed to fix this issue.

If you want to know which docs are letter and legal, you can use a pdf sorter like the one I have linked below. It will seperate the pdf and give you a letter pdf and a legal pdf.

In Adobe you can view thumbnails of the document that tell you what size the page is.

Yes, I too have used the notary rotary sorter when I feel a pages may not be printing correctly as a tool to see how many letter vs legal there should be. My printer has glitched before and printed wrong. You can also as others stated look at a thumbprint view or scroll through print preview mode and it tells me the size of each page. Don’t worry about barcodes vs no barcodes as long as the barcodes print as such. Not all pages have barcodes.

Is that available in the free version as well? I couldn’t find it, It use to be under the view tab > Show/Hide > Navigation Panes > Thumbnails

I kind of figured it out. It’s weird, but if I open the pdf from the download folder it pulls up the thumbnail, but if I bring the pdf to the desktop it uses the Adobe app rather than opening the pdf in a browser window and doesn’t show thumbnails.

Only bad thing about the NR page sorter is that it doesn’t work on files that have security codes attached to them. Other than that, it’s the best one out there.

I guess I am spoiled. I have a dual tray that reads what the original in the downloaded file is printed on. I also look through the preview of the printed file and look at the page size if I am unsure what I am dealing with. It is not unusual to get some oddball sizes thrown in there that hang up the printer (9.65 x 13.7 or something stupid) That causes a stop in printing and figuring out the offending pages. But you are correct, the bar codes need to be visible and you might have to jockey page size around to get it to print. Have not needed notary rotary, but good to hear it works for you.

May I ask what kind of dual printer do you have?

I get the message on every order about printing, but I am finding that 99.9% of the time, everything is printing on letter. While going through the document I can tell if something didn’t print correctly. I have a great printer and need to contact support as it does not do as asked in sorting.

Adobe Reader is Very helpful. You just need to open the files in Adobe and check the box.

2 things. Most of my doc downloads will say x legal and x letter. So i can print them seperately and then organize the pages, which is pretty labor intensive. To save yourself a lot of grief, you need to find a printer that prints both sizes and use the printer software to set it up so the printer chooses the paper size. Most often this is a printer with 2 drawers. Some printers (older HPs ) also have an area to feed the second size paper. I would suggest you search Facebook marketplace, Craigslist and ebay to start. I bought my current one from Craigslist. It might be some significant $$, but it’s an investment in your business. 2 brands im thinking of would be Brother and HP. Mine is a Xerox, and i paid $150, but I don’t see many of them anymore. Often business that are closing are selling equipment, which is where i got mine. I also discovered that sometimes the PDF format that the signing company used will not allow my printer to print 2 sizes, so I download to a file on my computer and then open in Adobe PDF. Hope that helps. National Notary site has an instruction page for printer setup.
