Good luck. Because this was clearly not your fault.
I have had recently evening requests and I also charge higher fee and donât accept it unless i get the fee for my time for the evening.
In addition to getting your fee straightened out for the upcoming closing, I would definitely ask for a trip fee and a print fee for the aborted closing.
Amrock has set fees for their notaries. You are automatically paid that fee when you accept an order through their signing app.
I received a hybrid mobile assignment from Amrock via phone, and we negotiated the fees.
You have to run your business and know your worth. If you keep lossing money with your business you wont have it long. Just saying.
Totally in agreement with your comment.
Update: Amrock is close to getting my fee schedule updated accurately. This behind-the-scenes work is crucial for business operations. Even in an oversaturated market, we must update or reevaluate our fees properly.
For the aborted closing, I am asking for full payment due to the level of services that were rendered.
Exactly, Carl. Good job on following through on this. It takes time. It takes diligence. But, once your fees are instituted, itâs all worth it.
This is a prime example of why not to accept $55 offers and why not to travel 55 minutes one way to any signing.
You didnât make a dime, and this cost you money.
The reason they are calling for a last minute signing is because they are in a lurch. They should be paying more for these signings, but we have too many notaries normalizing the low offers, and driving the prices down.
Update: Amrock has confirmed that the full fee will be paid, and my signing fee schedule is now updated. My fees are significantly higher than what Amrock usually offers, so I donât expect many immediate orders. I am fine with this, as I will likely receive orders only when they have difficulty filling them. It will be a win win outcome for us both.
Glad that worked out the way you wanted.
Yay, Carl!!
So very happy for you!
Youâre probably correct in âI donât expect many immediate orders⊠as I will likely receive orders only when they have difficulty filling them.â
As I previously posted â I do work with Amrock. I get some blast offers and other times they call me. All of them are for $XXX (my posted fees with them). It IS a win-win for all. ![]()
@cfletcher Thank you for your precise update regarding the disposition of this Signing Order [SO].
Best wishes ![]()

@cNsa5 Our business activities can benefit others. I have also gained from your contributions to this forum.
The orders that they have difficulty filling are those in remote or otherwise undesirable locations, at undesirable times of day (late night, early morning), or something else about them that turns off potential takers. Those are the only kind of jobs that I would imagine Amrock deviating from their normal fee schedule.
@cfletcher Thank You ![]()
for the Acknowledgement. Appreciate it.

Great job, Carl. Wish the âplatformsâ operated that way. Iâd much rather only have to deal with fees & areas that are doable than get lots of totally ridiculous offers.
I negotiated a job from $85 to $175.00 the drive was 1 hour and 8 minutes. I didnât expect them to give it to me but, was awarded. I hope they compensate you and pay you what you deserve.
